nutrition 101

adding one serving (30g) of hemp to your diet each day provides 10g of protein, 3g of omega 3 and a hefty dose of anti-inflammatory GLA. it’s a little bit of hemp, but a whole lot of nutrition.

hemp is rich in the essential fatty acid omega 3. it’s essential because our bodies don’t produce it on their own, so we have to get it from our food.

hemp also contains the perfect balance of omegas 3 & 6 (1:3). Omega 6 is inflammatory in nature, whereas omega 3 is anti-inflammatory. unfortunately the modern diet contains too much omega 6 and too little omega 3 (about 10:1 in favour of omega 6). so when in doubt, just remember: less junk, more hemp.

hemp is one of the most digestible forms of protein around. hemp’s protein content is ⅔ edestin, which is our body's preferred form of protein, and ⅓ albumen protein - the high quality protein found in eggs.

more digestible = less gas. so switch up that dirty ol’ whey protein for some hemp - your family and friends will thank you for it.

but if you’re not easily impressed, hemp also contains the rare gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). GLA has been shown to assist the maintenance of healthy cholesterol levels, reduce inflammation, improve skin and hair health, balance hormones, and ensure general heart health. yay for GLA.
